The AIANY Architecture Tour Committee’s Featured Guide Series invites NYC waterfront specialists, from varied fields and disciplines, to offer first hand insights drawn from their involvement in the transformation of our city’s edge. AIANY Tour Committee co chair, Arthur Platt, hosts the Featured Guide aboard Classic Harbor Line’s yacht Manhattan or Manhattan II and contributes AIANY Around Manhattan NYC Architecture Tour narration.
During all AIANY Boat Tours, buildings, developments, parks and infrastructure are not simply identified, they are thematically linked to help guests better understand the recent transformation of NYC’s waterfront from one of industry to one of booming residential development, ecologically driven park design and resilient urban planning. Featured Guides bring even greater focus to specific sites and expand upon vital NYC waterfront topics.
